Sweden is considered as an affluent welfare state, which has been built with comprehensive social policies. However, traditional social policies have no longer worked well under globalization, and they tackle the problems of regional disparities and economic inequality in society.
My research concerns social service and employment in a highly developed global society, mainly focusing on (1) rural community development activities, (2) effects of EU policies on the Swedish welfare system, (3) social and employment issues in Sweden caused by the acceptance of the large number of immigrants and refugees.
