We study the structures and functions of naturally occurring organic compounds and explore ways to create these molecules through organic synthesis. Natural products are special substances used by living organisms and serve as valuable resources for medicines, agrochemicals, and functional materials. Our work focuses on developing new synthetic methods that allow us to build these complex molecules efficiently and with precise control. This includes designing short synthetic routes for molecules with many substituents or intricate stereochemistry, as well as uncovering the hidden value of compounds found in underutilized plant and microbial resources through the power of chemistry.
