With recent advances in DNA sequencing technology, genome sequence information on a wide variety of organisms has become available. In our laboratory, we are using the large amount of genetic information to conduct research on evolution. For example, we have developed a comprehensive convergent protein detection program to elucidate the effects of protein convergence on evolution, and we are developing fundamental technologies to enable more accurate phylogenetic analysis than ever before.
